Plaato Keg is a smart scale for kegs, using simple weight measurement to generate advanced insights into volume, temperature, and consumption in real time. It provides continuous visibility into keg status without modifying existing draft systems.
Originally designed for home brewers, the product was adopted by small and medium-sized businesses, extending its use beyond its initial target audience.
The product launched on Kickstarter and reached 505% funding of its original goal, before going on to sell 12,000+ units globally.
Plaato Keg was the second product developed at Plaato and contributed directly to the company’s continued growth.
The project included industrial design leadership and end-to-end supply chain development, covering supplier selection, manufacturing setup, quality control, packaging, logistics, and direct-to-customer global fulfillment.
The product received two Red Dot Design Awards, recognizing its clarity, simplicity, and effective use of basic sensing to deliver advanced insight.
